More than 160 public servants from all over the country, who represent the local and central public authorities, were awarded Government Diplomas of the first, second and third degrees in a festive meeting held to mark the Public Service Day that is celebrated on June 23, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.
The executive’s secretary general Victor Bodiu said it is seven years since Moldova launched the public administration reform that aims to institute a modern, innovative and efficient public administration system, in accordance with the principles of good governance of the European Union and the Council of Europe.
Victor Bodiu spoke about the results achieved in implementing electronic governance, the public services reform program for 2012-2015 and the UN Public Service Award won by Moldova recently for the first time.
The Public Service Day was instituted in Moldova in 2012 and is marked on June 23, when, in accordance with the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly of 2003, there are celebrated all those who work in the public service of the UN member states.
