Specialists of the water supplier “Apă-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) in June took over 15,000 samples of water for testing, IPN reports.

In a press release, the company says that before pumping water into the distribution network of the municipality of Chisinau, the quality of water is daily tested according to over 25 physical-chemical and bacteriological parameters. The tests are done at the Nistru Water Station’s Lab and the Drinking Water Laboratory. Thirty-seven validated analytical methods are used to determine the sanitary-hygienic indicators.

The water samples are taken from the Nistru River, the Chisinau Wastewater Treatment Station and the Nistru Water Station, drinking water reservoirs, the municipal centralized water distribution network, artesian wells and local spring wells that are managed by ACC and those from newly-build aqueducts that are later connected to the centralized system.

The quality of water in the treatment process and in the public water supply system is tested monthly according to all the parameters indicated in the existing regulations and in accordance with the timetables approved by the Chisinau Public Health Center.

SA “Apă-Canal Chisinau” calls on the consumers to inform about irregularities noticed in the centralized water supply and sewage system by indicating contact data so that the necessary measures can be taken.
