The Education Ministry allocated more than 1,000 extra places for the applicants for a master’s degree for the 2013-2014 academic year. Contacted by IPN, the head of the Ministry’s Higher Education Division Nadejda Velishko said that this year there will be admitted more students than the previous years because the number of applicants to universities increases every year.
According to the Education Ministry, more than 9,000 places will be available at universities this year, about 3,500 of which are budget-funded ones. This is by about 150 places more than last year. Over 5,600 places were allocated for those who want to study on a contract basis, which is by about 1,000 more than in the 2012-2013 academic year.
Only the number of places intended for those who want to study for a master’s degree was raised.
