Over 100 tonnes of garbage collected in central Chisinau

The workers gathered 12 tractorloads or more than 100 tonnes of garbage in the center of Chisinau after the City’s Day marked on October 14. The largest quantity of waste was collected in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral. Eliferii Haruta, director of the Green Areas Association, has told Info-Prim Neo that 10 of the 12 tractorloads were collected in the square of the Cathedral, while the rest in the square of the National Opera House and the central garden. The garbage included hundreds of bags, paper, remains of food, packing and empty bottles. Eliferii Haruta said the 45 workers of the Green Areas Association worked from 5am until 10am. Agnesia Ungureanu, dispatcher of the municipal road management company “Exdrupo, stated for the Agency that that company was responsible for cleaning the streets. Five vehicles swept the streets, while one vehicle transported the garbage. There were collected 8 tonnes of litter. More than 70,000 people gathered in the Great National Assembly Square on Chisinau’s Day.
