Over 100 officials, businessmen and journalists from EU, Russia, Ukraine and Moldova to attend launch of AOAM

The launch of the Moldova Business People Association (AOAM) and the international business forum that will be held on this occasion will bring together more than 100 representatives of the business community and officials from the EU, Russia, Ukraine and Moldova. Diplomats, representatives of business associations and journalists from ten countries will also take part in the event. The AOAM will be officially launched on October 7, 2010, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Association's Public Relations Service. The international conference themed “East-West Regional Economic Cooperation” will be opened by Dominique de Villepin, French politician and writer and former Foreign Minister and Prime Minister of France in 2005-2007, Valeriu Lazar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Moldova, Dorin Dragutan, National Bank Governor, and Vlad Plahotniuc, AOAM founder. The first session of the conference will center on the development of investment activities in the context of the global recession and economic decline in emergent countries; the necessity of establishing informal partnerships and communication channels between business organizations from different countries; the role of the business community in encouraging businesses at the national and international levels; Moldova – potential for exporting to the EU, attractiveness for potential Eastern investors, and strengthening of bilateral commercial ties with the CIS countries. The second session will focus on the cooperation between business associations and government officials, especially the participation by representatives of the business community in the formulation of state economic polices aimed at improving the investment climate and attracting foreign investments etc., identification and promotion of infrastructure-related projects for the business environment, financial and capital markets, the private pension system, international organizations and institutions. The Moldova Business People Association is a nongovernmental, apolitical, nonprofit organization that aims to improve the business environment and support the entrepreneurial spirit for a sustainable economic development in Moldova, in accordance with the EU values. Founded by businessman Vlad Plahotniuc, it brings together Moldovan business people, including famous persons with a rich experience and knowledge of national and international business practices. The main objectives of the Association are based on three directions: legislative initiatives for optimizing the normative framework; promotion of Moldova's image abroad and attraction of foreign investments; programs to support the SME sector, and building of an efficient business and investment environment.
