More than 100 children from the diaspora returned home to take part in the sixth governmental program DOR – Diaspora. Origins. Returns. In the launch of the camp on August 21, Prime Minister Pavel Filip thanked the children for not forgetting about Moldova and the parents for educating the children to love their homeland, IPN reports, with reference to the Government’s press service.
In discussions, the Premier urged the children to never give up dreaming. “Do always only what you like. Only this way you will be able to become good students, good professionals and parents and later very good grandparents. He related that the profession of engineer he chose in adolescence always brought him professional satisfaction and taught him to look at things as at a complex mechanism.
“I tried to implement the engineering principles in politics too. It’s true that the Republic of Moldova during many years had been like a sinking ship. I, being an engineer, tried to identify the causes. And I succeeded. At least this ship is now afloat. I would like the engines of this sheep to also start work so that we together build a country that the people will not want to leave and to which the people would return with love,” stated Pavel Filip, noting he wants most all the projects launched by the executive to be implemented.
The DOR camp is staged annually to strengthen the cultural ties of children from the diaspora with the country of origin, Moldova. This year the camp involves over 100 children from 18 countries aged between 12 and 17.
