The National Olympic Committee showed the outfit of Moldova’s national team for the Sochi Olympic Games in the evening of January 30.
The clothes were made in the Netherlands. A set cost about €1,000. The equipment was presented during the traditional Olympic Dinner, IPN reports.
The outfit was presented by a group of singers and athletes in the absence of the four members of the national team, who are in training for the Winter Olympics. “The sports equipment is very important for athletes. We hope it will bring them success,” said the National Olympic Committee president Nicolae Juravschi.
Within the Gala, there were summed up the results of 2013 and awarded the athletes who achieved remarkable results on the international arena.
At the Sochi Olympics, Moldova will be represented by Victor Panzaru (Alpine skiing), Georg Linder (giant slalom), Bogdan Macovei (sledding), and Alexandra Camenshchik (Alpine skiing and biathlon). Moldova’s flag will be carried by Victor Panzaru.
The best result ever achieved by a Moldovan athlete at the Winter Olympic Games was obtained by biathlete Natalia Levcenkova in 2006, when she ranked eighth.
