The other language speaking candidates took the first Baccalaureate exam, in the Romanian language and literature, on June 4. They said they weren’t disturbed by the video cameras and didn’t try to copy. For some of them the test was easy, while others confessed that they encountered difficulties. The IPN’s reporter talked to students who sat the exam at the Theoretical Lyceum “Gheorghe Asachi” in Chisinau.
Vadim from Camenca is a first-year student at the State University of Moldova. As he applied to the university after finishing 11 grades, he has to take the Baccalaureate exams now. He said that Romanian is not a difficult language, but you must want to speak it. The exam seemed easy to him. He had to perform several tasks based on a work of Nicolae Dabija.
Twelfth grader Ludmila had to analyze a text written by Ion Druta. She said that the video cameras didn’t bother her. She didn’t try to copy and believes she will get at least a ‘7’.
Ana has learned Romanian for a year and the test seemed very difficult to her, especially the essay. She voiced hope she will get a ‘6’.
About 5,000 candidates sat the exam in the Romanian language and literature that lasted for three academic hours. The second Baccalaureate exam, in the language of learning, will be held on June 7.
The test papers will be graded at two national centers during June 4-26, while the results will be posted in the Baccalaureate centers on June 27. The candidates dissatisfied with the grade will have 48 hours to challenge it since the announcement of the results.
