The chief negotiators at the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks of Chisinau and Tiraspol, Victor Osipov and Nina Shtanski, could have a new meeting on August 20. The announcement was made by Victor Osipov after the August 13 meeting that took place in Tiraspol, IPN reports.
In the meeting, the sides discussed possibilities of supporting the Transnistrian companies. Victor Osipov said the official Chisinau understands that the economic situation in the region is not simple, but things on the right bank of the Nistru River are not better. For the Government of Moldova, the economic stability throughout the country’s territory is very important and no obstacle is placed in the path of the Transnistrian economic entities, while statistics show that the consumption of products made in Transnistria increased on the right bank.
Next week, there will be staged the expert meetings of the joint working groups. A possible meeting between Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet and the Transnistrian leader Yevgheny Shevchuk hasn’t been discussed yet.
