OSCE PA will create new platform for dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly intends to establish a platform for dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, the vice president of the OSCE PA and head of the Parliamentary Team on Moldova Valburga Habsburg Douglas said while on a visit to Tiraspol on January 20, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in Transnistria reports. In Tiraspol, Valburga Habsburg Douglas met with the Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov, the administration of the local legislative body and foreign ministry. Valburga Habsburg Douglas stressed the importance of obtaining first-hand information, both in Chisinau and Tiraspol. She said the OSCE PA will try to maintain the continuity of its policy on Transnistria. According to sources in the OSCE, the Transnistrian conflict will be the focus of attention at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's February session that will take place in Vienna.
