OSCE Mission will assist Prosecutor General's Office in reformation process

The Prosecutor General's Office and the OSCE Mission signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the reformation of the PG and exchange experience with the Baltic states, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Prosecutor General's Office. Within the project “Support to the Reform of the Prosecutor General's Office and Strengthening of its Capacities on the Basis of Baltic States' Experience”, which is an integral part of the memorandum, the parties will set up a group of experts consisting of representatives of the PG, experts from the Baltic countries and from the OSCE Mission. They will analyze the main problems confronting the institution. Under the memorandum, Moldovan prosecutors will pay a fact-finding visit to the Baltic states to establish dynamic and interactive cooperation rations with their colleagues and learn from their experience in overcoming the impediments encountered in the reformation process. Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco said the OSCE Mission plays a very important role in the implementation of the reform at the PG, whose top priority is to enforce the law. The Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Philip Remler expressed readiness to support all the constructive initiatives aimed at establishing efficient cooperation in ensuring law and order and the observance of the human rights and fundamental freedoms. The agreement came into force after signed and is valid until the end of this year.
