The representative of OSCE Mission in Moldova made a report regarding the current stage of the process of withdrawal of Russian military forces of the territory of Moldova during the annual meeting of the Coordinating Revising Committee regarding the implementation of the control over the conventional arms, held in Brussels, at NATO General Headquarters. There were mentioned the stages of this process, the causes of its interruption in March 2004, as well as the efforts of OSCE Mission in order to de-block this situation, according to the report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE). At its turn, the delegation of Moldova reiterated the position of the authorities of Chisinau regarding the unconditioned and complete withdrawal of troops and ammunitions of Moldovan territory, according to decision of OSCE Summit in Istanbul in 1999. The participants at the meeting were informed about the last development in the process of regulating the Transnistrian problem. The ministry noted that another discussed topic during the meeting was the new mechanism of customs control of goods inflow at Moldovan-Ukrainian border. Recently, ambassador of RM to Belgium Victor Gaiciuc, the head of RM Mission by NATO, discussed in Brussels with Simon Lunn, general secretary of NATO Parliamentary Assembly, items regarding the parliamentary dimension of bilateral relations between NATO and Moldova. Moldovan diplomat underlined the country’s will to expand the cooperation with NATO according to Individual Action Plan for Partnership (IPAP) and, in this context, the important role that the parliament of Chisinau has in this. Simon Lunn confirmed the availability of PA to intensify the cooperation with the parliament of RM, including providing assistance in implementing different training program, document, and experience exchange. NATO Coordinating Revising Committee is the body that discusses the practical aspects of the implementation process of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (FACE).
