The children who took part in a drawing contest in Chisinau’s central garden on June 17 said they want the city to have playgrounds, balloons in the sky, recreational parks, and trolleybuses with characters. The children were to draw the capital city that they want, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Liberal Party’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that they decided to organize an event whereby to see what the children want to have in the municipality of Chisinau the next years and how they consider the capital city should be like. “The children showed they want more parks for children, clean air, a free world, more woods that produce oxygen, parents who live together with their children and elderly persons who are not involved in accidents,” said the candidate. Dorin Chirtoaca stressed that it is a joy to see how sincere the children address the city’s problems. “We should do what we do for the children’s future and welfare so that they live in better conditions,” said the candidate. Attending the event, writer Iulian Filip said that after the drawing contest the children will go to “Ion Creanga” Library to meet different writers. They will receive books as gifts their, while their drawings will be displayed as part of an exhibition. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, has told Info-Prim Neo that about 60 children took part on the contest. They were mainly first-fourth graders who now attend the summer camps set up in schools.
