The orphan children and those who remained without parental care, who are under the guardianship of the Chisinau Children’s Rights Protection Division and will go to the first grade this year, on August 20 will receive by 4,000 lei for purchasing the necessary school supplies and clothes, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Division, the children will have a meeting with Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, where they will be handed over the envelopes with the money. After the meeting, the children, together with their guardians, will go on a trip to the Zoological Garden, where they will be offered candies.
The Chisinau Children’s Rights Protection Division is supervising 1,554 children who remained without parental care. Of them, 743 are protected by tutelage/guardianship. 431 of the children are orphans and receive monthly allowances of 600 lei from the state. At the end of each school year, the orphans who finish the ninth and twelfth grades receive by 3,000 lei and, respectively 4,000 lei in assistance from the municipal social support fund.
