Moldova's possible entry into a customs union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan would be inconsistent with most of the agreements signed with the European Union, believes the executive director of the Resource Center for Human Rights (CREDO) Sergiu Ostaf. “Those who are in favor of such a move either do not know the negotiation process or are for the renegotiation of certain commitments,” Sergiu Ostaf said during debates held in the conference hall of Info-Prim Neo. The expert stated that Moldova made comments to the EU in the legal system, human rights, free movement of goods and persons. “It would be absolutely incoherent if the public authorities and the political players review these commitments and the contracts signed in a number of areas,” said Sergiu Ostaf. He considers that Moldova's chances to build an affluent society are greater in the EU, where it can identify solutions to social and economic problems. “The offer and the financial support from this area are much more generous and unconditional. In the Eastern area, we have interests and cooperation partners, but the quality of these relations is different,” said the expert.
