The Orhei mayor’s office began to distribute firewood to socially underprivileged families from the town free of charge following the receipt of 150 applications submitted by persons in need, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the mayor’s office.
Each family will receive by a stere of firewood in assistance. The firewood is distributed daily at the storehouse of the local public amenities company I.M. “Servicii comunal-locative”, located at 25 Chisinaului St, between 6:30am and 9:30am.
Over 70 applicant families already received the firewood.
More than 550 applications for firewood have been submitted to the Orhei mayor’s office so far. These are examined by a special commission. Priority is given to the families with the lowest incomes.
The number of applications for firewood satisfied by the Orhei mayor’s office rose from 30 the previous season to over 150 this season.
