The liver and kidney of a 27-year-old man who was in a coma were transplanted, IPN reports, quoting the portal e-medicina.md. The man’s mother decided to donate the organs after she was informed that her son has no chance of survival.

The man’s liver was transplanted to a woman aged 53 diagnosed with terminal cirrhosis. She had been long on the waiting list to have a transplant. One of the kidneys was donated to a 49-year-old man who suffered from renal insufficiency. The second kidney was transplanted to a woman aged 36 who suffered from the same disease.

The man’s cornea and skin were stored in the tissue bank and are to be tested infectiously and epidemiologically. If they are safe from medical viewpoint, they will be used in transplant operations.

The young man went into a coma after he was beaten in a bar in Mingir village of Hancesti district on February 11. He wasn’t given chances of survival and the relatives on February 17 decided to disconnect him from the apparatus.
