The ordinance not to take legal action over the illegal financing of the Party of Socialists was annulled. The leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase said he was informed about this by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, IPN reports.

In a posting on Facebook, the politician said the annulment of the ordinance issued on July 8 by prosecutors controlled by Plahotniuc is a success of the whole society. The ordinance was part of the agreement reached by President Igor Dodon and the former leader of the Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotniuc so that they both could avoid punishment and the criminal cases started against them could be dropped.

On November 19, Andrei Năstase made a request to annul the July 8 ordinance to the Prosecutor General’s Office. He provided again recordings of the discussion between President Dodon and the former Democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc, who served then as an MP. The recordings say the party led by Igor Dodon before being elected President is financed by Russia with almost US$700,000 a month.
