The bills proposed by the opposition are included in the agenda of the Parliament’s sittings only for the sake of inclusion and their examination does not end with their adoption, Socialist MP Zinaida Grecheanyi said in the March 18 sitting, where there were discussed mainly legislative initiatives suggested by Socialist and Liberal-Democratic MPs, IPN reports.
The lawmakers examined ten bills. Two bills, which referred to the dismissal of an MP and the modification of the composition of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau, were withdrawn by the authors – the Communist MPs.
The Lib-Dems’ bill to amend the Election Code so that it allows for the selection of the members of the Central Election Commission at a contest wasn’t supported by the MPs.
The Socialists put forward a number of bills, including on the extension of the list of state property that cannot be privatized, the freeing of lawyers from the obligation to wear a robe if they do not have where to change clothes, and on the punishment of the electric power supplier if this illegally disconnects consumers who didn’t pay for electric power by mistake. None of these initiatives was approved.
