Communist MP Igor Dodon said that if the Alliance for European Integration puts its scenario into practice – holds a referendum to amend the Constitution in September and parliamentary and presidential elections in November - the state budget for next year will not be approved on time. He made the statement during debates organized by the fund “Priznanie”, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The referendum will be held with the financial support of the European organizations, said Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Democrat MP Alexandr Stoianoglo. He also said that the Alliance's scenario enables to break the constitutional and political deadlock so that the state institutions function normally. “Evidently, we will do everything according to plan. The referendum will help us decide what to do next and when to dissolve the Parliament,” Alexandr Stoianoglo stressed.
In the same meeting, the leader of the Social Democratic Party Victor Selin accused the Opposition and the Government of consulting with Moscow and the European organizations before taking certain decisions. “We do not have sovereign democracy at home. I hope the new Parliament, which will be constituted after the early legislative elections, will build a new Moldova as the current lawmakers disappointed the people,” he said.
