A Communist MP, Grigorie Petrenco, is accused of corruption. The accusations were launched on Tuesday, November 26, at a news conference, by the leader of Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN). Serafim Urecheanu stated that Petrenco, as a deputy, would protect the unlawful jobs of his mother and wife, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Urecheanu, Grigorie Petrenco’s mother, which is the owner of a private lyceum in Botanica sector of Chisinau, does not pay the Chisinau City Hall the tax for hiring the place where she works, thus harming the budget, and she does not obey the court’s decisions made a couple of years ago. AMN leader says Grigore Petrenco is also charged with power abuse in protecting the illegal actions in the bar from the official delegation’s hall of the Chisinau International Airport. This place is under the patronage of Petrenco’s wife, Urecheanu has stated. “It is a case of total corruption. The prices here are 200% higher than the prices in the city,” he stated, and added that he talked to the bar’s employees, who told him that “this bar works with no permit”. Serafim Urecheanu said that he had addressed an interpellation on this case to the Prosecutor’s Office from Botanica sector. Grigorie Petrenco could not be found to comment on the accusations brought upon him.
