Opposition MPs congratulate one another for failing the elections of the country's president, while the ruling Communists accuse them of anti-state attitude, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vlad Filat, Liberal Democrats' (PLDM) leader, said, in the end of the parliament's session on Wednesday, that the whole society expected the opposition not to betray their confidence vote. “Unfortunately, the Communist propaganda machine works at full speed and accuses the opposition of everything, in order to polarize society. It's absolutely ridiculous to assert that electing the president is the only solution to overcome the crisis Moldova is in. On the contrary, our participation in electing a Communist president would have meant not only legitimizing the electoral frauds, but also granting a mandate to a totalitarian regime, to a failing economy, to not respecting the human rights in Moldova,” Filat said. Veaceslav Untila, Our Moldova Alliance's first deputy president, has stated that “on June 3 the opposition proved the time when the personal and party interests were put above the voters' will has passed.” “Today the opposition gave a lesson of civic dignity, as a consequence we witness the burial of the political prostitution having flourishing for the last years in the Moldovan society. People don't want to live in a concentration camp Moldova has turned into,” the MP said. Untila, as well as Filat, has asked the Communist faction not to blame the opposition for the political crisis, because they (Communists) are the only responsible. Corina Fusu, the Liberal Party's deputy president, has congratulated the MPs for the appearance of a an opposition consistent and dignified. “For the PL, the early elections are not a goal as such. They are a chance for Moldova to rehabilitate itself and not to repeat the electoral frauds of April 5, 2009 and the tragic events of April 7,” Fusu said. The parliamentarian has asked to insure the opposition's access to the public broadcasters, to stop the reparation of the Parliament and Presidency buildings, because of the crisis and salary arrears to state employees. Maria Postoico, the leader of the PCRM faction, has accused the opposition of having blocked the election of the president for the second time. “The country and its citizens are again thrown onto the wave of political events. The Communist faction has done its best not to allow the development of the negative events so that the country's image abroad does not suffer. We consider this scenario is not by chance. Everything started with the April events. The opposition go on displaying an anti-state attitude,” Postoico concluded. No president was elected by the parliament in the repeated elections on June 3. Zinaida Grecianai gained 60 votes, falling short of just one to become a president. Later, president in office Vladimir Voronin has appointed Grecianai as premier designated. She is to to present her cabinet and ruling program at the parliament's session of June 10.
