The Law on the Opposition will be filed to Parliament by the head of state, the Socialists’ leader Igor Dodon said after a meeting with President Nicolae Timofti, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We held discussions on the Opposition Law with seven parliamentary groups and, together with the group of experts of the Socialists, will finalize this bill. Until the middle of May, we will submit it again to the President so that he puts it forward as a legislative initiative,” stated Igor Dodon. According to him, another subject for discussion was the Antidiscrimination Law. Igor Dodon said he will insist on the protection of the Christian values of society. “We will demand removing the phrase ‘sexual minority’ from the law. We informed the head of state that Macedonia obtained a liberalized visa regime without adopting this law, avoiding namely this phrase,” he stated. The sides also discussed the Transnistrian issue, underlining that the head of state should be a conciliator in the relations with Tiraspol and take into account the political realities in identifying a viable solution to the conflict. The Socialists’ leader and the head of state agreed to have other meetings in the near future, especially in order to promote the bill on the opposition.
