“The opposition is treated with reservation or is even ignored and this is flagrantly against the principles of democracy and human rights,” former MP Iurie Reniță stated in a press briefing given while the Constitutional Court was announcing the validation of the seats of the newly elected MPs, referring to the former composition of Parliament, IPN reports.

Deploring the disagreeable situation imposed by the Socialists after removing the Sandu Government, by an alliance that included also the Shor group, the former MP referred to the failed effort to promote the law by which “Moldovan language” from the documents of the Government and Parliament is replaced with “Romanian language”. They also didn’t manage to promote the law on foundations that was aimed at annihilating the foundations of Plahorniuc, Dodon, Shor, Usatîi and others, which distorted and compromised the electoral process.

A diplomat who entered politics, Iurie Reniță said he aimed to shorten the list of beneficiaries of diplomatic passports and to annul the privileges enjoyed by this after the expiry of the mandates of the President, Parliament and Prime Minister as this would have saved millions of lei.

As to the cases “Bahamas” and “kulyokul”, with which he dealt, the ex-MP said one of his interlocutors – a prosecutor with 40 years’ seniority in the system – expressed his bewilderment at the fact that the prosecutor general cannot find sufficient evidence in the Bahamas case. Igor Dodon should stand trial. There are sufficient incontestable proofs. The prosecutor general’s attempt to justify his failures and the lack of trust in the prosecution service among the people despite his ethnic affiliation cannot be classified somehow.
