A number of politicians affiliated to the Shor group on Sunday created in Moscow the political bloc “Victory”, which aims to unite the opposition against the current government and change the pro-European orientation of the Republic of Moldova by restoring the relations with the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Union. Representatives of the ruling party described the action as “treason”, IPN reports.

The event to found the bloc was attended by leaders and members of the parties “Revival”, “Chance”, “Alternative and Rescue Force of Moldova”, “Victory” and of the former Shor Party that was previously declared unconstitutional. The chairman of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia Dmitry Constantinov and the Bashkan of the Territorial-Administrative Unit of Gagauzia Yevgenia Guțul also took part.

“We all know very well about our traditional relations with Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union. This is a priority for us today. And this hall today brought together namely those people who understand how important it is for the entire Moldovan opposition to unite against the enemy, against poverty, against the problems brought by the EU and the administration in the person of Maia Sandu and the PAS. And we are very glad that here, in Moscow, no one shuts us up and we can express our opinion,” said independent MP Marina Tauber, a member of the team of fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor, who is thought to be the author of the initiative to create the bloc.

Ilan Shor became chairman of the bloc, Yevgenia Guțul – secretary of the National Council, while Marina Tauber – executive secretary. The leadership also includes the leader of the Chance Party Alexei Lungu, Victoria Șapa and Tatiana Cociu, as well as opposition MPs, including Alexandru Nesterovschi, Alexandru Suhodolschi, Irina Lozovan, Vasile Bolea, and Vadim Fotescu.

“A whole country saw the traitors in Moscow. We can clearly say that a Victory/Pobeda organized criminal bloc was created in Moscow. It was created in Moscow, near the Kremlin, to make it clear who they work for and who they serve. However, not everyone is there on stage. Some of them are still hiding in Chisinau, behind all kinds of parties. In the coming years, we must get rid of them,” deputy chairman of the Party of Action and Solidarity Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, wrote in social media.

Ilan Shor was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the “bank fraud” case. He fled the country a few years ago. He was put on sanctions lists by a number of states and is seen paying frequent visits to the Russian Federation, including for meetings with high-ranking officials of this country.
