The Chisinau City Hall and the State University of Moldova’s Department of Letters will organize the correct speech test “An exam for everyone” to celebrate the Romanian Language Day, IPN reports.
The contest will take place on Saturday, August 27, at 1 PM, in the Department of Letters’ first building. The results will be announced on August 30.
According to the organizers, this is the third year in a row when the people and visitors of Chisinau can test their Romanian language skills and the best of them will get prizes.
The test includes questions about usual neologisms and orthography. Participants will have to find calques in a text, to explain the mistake and offer a correct alternative. Other questions will be about vocabulary and expressions used in a wrong way, as well as mistakenly used prepositions and conjunctions.
The partners of the event are the publishing houses Cartier, Arc, Stiinta, Bestseller, which will provide the prizes for the winners – books, albums, CDs, e-Readers.
