Open Doors Day at World Bank Office in Moldova

Children and adolescents are invited today to the World Bank Office in Moldova located on Pushkin Street in Chisinau. The institution holds the Open Doors Day on the occasion of the International Children’s Day. The children will have the possibility of participating in different discussions and interactive games where there will be presented WB projects in a way that is easily comprehensible to them. “The aspects concerning the improvement of education, healthcare and social protection of children are indispensable in the projects implemented by the World Bank Office in Moldova,” Victor Neagu, official in charge of public affairs at the WB Office in Chisinau, has told Info-Prim Neo. During many years, the World Bank financed and took part in the carrying out of different studies of the situation of Moldovan children, including those from vulnerable familie, formulating proposals for their social integration, Victor Neagu said. The day will culminate with a ceremony to award the winners of the photo contest “Your Life, Your Community”. The contest was launched on March 17 and was open to children and young people under the age of 18. The photographs show the life in settlements, the aspirations of adults and children, Moldova’s rich nature. Twelve of these pictures will be included in the 2010 Calendar that the World Bank publishes yearly.
