The Department of Information Technology, Transport and Infrastructure of the Democratic Party (PDM) suggests reducing the number of beneficiaries of special license numbers for motor vehicles and other categories of privileged license numbers. According to a bill drafted by specialists of the Department, the special numbers RM should be kept only for the vehicles of senior government officials, police and embassy officials, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the party.
In the discussions held within the Department, Deputy ICT Minister Vitalie Tarlev said the regulation of the allocation of special license numbers will enable to exclude the priorities in traffic enjoyed by vehicles belonging to state bodies and the public administration that are used by MPs and the Parliament’s commissions, members of the Government and the central public administration, and will contribute to increasing safety in traffic.
Another bill discussed by the Department’s experts refers to the resumption of the transmission of TV Moldova International in order to ensure the Moldovan Diaspora’s access to information about the events taking place in Moldova. For the purpose, there was suggested augmenting the 2014 state budget by 2.5 million lei.
The bills will be discussed by the PDM’s Executive Bureau and will be then put forward by the party’s parliamentary group.
In another development, the participants in the meeting discussed initiatives concerning the improvement of the business environment in the area of transport and road security and considered the required measures.
