Only downtown roads of Chisinau to be entirely repaired this year

This year only the roads of the center of Chisinau city will be integrally repaired. The works have to be completed till October 1, this term being established by the president Vladimir Voronin, at a recent meeting of the City Hall of Chisinau, attended by decision-making bodies of the central and local administration. The head of the state ensured that central authorities would allocate in this sense additional resources from the state budget worth about 70 million de lei. At the same time, Voronin requested that repairing works of the roads should come along with pavement and illumination repairs. Repairs will continue on other roads of Chisinau districts, and this is, in general mayor Vasile Ursu’s opinion, an efficient alternative to replace asphalting small portions practice and a solution for traffic problems created by the precarious state of the city’s roads. The head of the Municipal Public Transport Department, Veaceslav Tsarna, reported that at the moment are repaired the roads on Tighina, Armeneasca, Varlaam, Alexandru cel Bun, Banulescu Bodoni streets. Such works also, during the year, will be done on Stefan cel Mare blvd, Kogalniceanu, Mateevici streets etc. 40 million lei from the city coffers will cover the expenditures for road repairs this year.
