Only 3 out of 5 political parties represented in Parliament have a firm anti-corruption message in their electoral manifestos, as the remaining two treat the subject in a superficial manner, said Sergiu Lipcean, expert with IDIS Viitorul, while presenting the report of the Anticorruption Alliance at a press conference on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the expert, the best anti-corruption message in terms of complexity is of the Democratic Party, which formulated a mechanism for fighting corruption on multiple levels; yet this mechanism is limited to legislative measures. While less elaborate, the message of the Liberal Democratic Party is promoted consistently throughout the entire election campaign, identifying corruption as the leading cause of poverty. The Liberal Party also proposes various legislative measures to combat corruption. As for the extraparliamentary parties, most of them have vitriolic messages directed at other electoral competitors and don't address corruption directly. Cristina Cojocaru, the secretary of the Anticorruption Alliance, said that only 2 out of 39 electoral competitors addressed the subject of corruption in the customs, and 5 the subject of corruption among the police. Corruption in the heal care sector is addressed by only one electoral competitors and so is corruption in the fiscal system. Most attention is given to corruption in the judiciary, a subject addressed by 13 out of 39 electoral competitors. Established in 2006, the Anticorruption Alliance brings together 30 NGOs.
