By 2020, all the public services can be accessed online, representatives of the e-Government Center announced in a news conference. The people will be able to easier access information and services online, to pay the bills, fines and other payments, to schedule an appointment with the doctor or at an education institution, to access libraries and validate documents online, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Closer services, data and information – this is the objective of e-Government. We want to bring the electronic services to people’s homes so that they can access them through the Internet, the mobile phone or interactive one-stop offices,” said communication coordinator Ilona Spataru. The electronic services are available nonstop and the people will not have to stay in queues or interact with civil servants. E-Government Center executive director Stela Mocan said that four electronic services will be launched this year: online application for criminal records, online-license, electronic reporting to the National Social Insurance House, and online application for construction documents. In parallel, electronic services will be applied in a number of areas. An electronic document circulation system and an electronic petition system for people will be created within the Government. E-Services coordinator Vlad Manoil said that after this system is implemented, the interminable queues at the one-stop offices will disappear and the interaction with civil services and, as a result, the corruption possibilities will reduce. The e-Government Center will also devise a single portal of public services whereby the people will have access to the whole range of public services. There will be available information about the services provided by the state – the name of the service, what documents the applicants need, where they should go, at what time, how much the service costs, etc. In Moldova there are over 500 public services and not all of them have electronic equivalents. The portal of public services will contain details about the electronic services and the traditional ones. Founded by the Government in August 2010, the e-Government Center is a public institution that aims to increase access to information and to promote digitized services.
