StarNet has launched a revolutionary television service called Megogo.net. It enables watching movies online on the TV set. Site authors, Ukrainians Alexander Mykal and Ivan Shestakov, presented their platform in Chisinau. The service is available in all the 15 former Soviet states, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on February 5, Megogo.net marketing director Ivan Shestakov said that the online movie theater appeared in 2011 and soon managed to extend its audience several times. The invitees from Kiev said that Megogo.net does not have competition in the CIS and is a platform with licensed content. Megogo.net includes more than 20,000 hours of video content with over 3,500 movies, 800 animated cartoons, 700 serials, 200 TV shows and concerts that can be watched free through the agency of the interactive television from StarNet. This company is the first in Moldova that enables to easily and conveniently access the online media content from the TV screen. StarNet marketing director Alexei Munteanu told the same news conference that during two months the company’s clients can benefit from the service free of charge and will have access to the entire archive of Megogo.net. The company plans to include all the films made in Moldova in the platform’s archive. Alexei Munteanu said that the partnership established with Megogo.net is the result of StarNet’s permanent preoccupation to ensure a common entertainment framework for its clients. An important point of this partnership is the fact that the offer of Megogo.net is a legal one, in compliance with copyright, as StarNet struggles to combat piracy. The platform’s representatives promised to renew the archive as often as possible and to add new options, including live broadcasts from sports events, educative and documentary films, and programs for children.
