A girl aged one drank vinegar when left without supervision for a moment and will now undergo surgery. The incident happened in a village in Glodeni district. The child was immediately brought to Chisinau to be operated.

Ala Condrea, head of the Emergency Admissions Section of the Balti Municipal Hospital where the girl was taken initially, has told IPN that the parents brought the child to the hospital the next day, when her state worsened. As she cannot swallow solid food, she is given liquid food only.

The doctor warned the parents not to leave the little kids without supervision even for short periods. Given that the number of cases of poisonings involving children increases during holidays, doctors urge the parents to feed the children only on special products intended for them that are kept in appropriate conditions.
