A year has passed since the Law on Information Technology Parks was adopted, but no such establishments appeared in Moldova so far. Authorities say the delay is due to the need to modify related legislation and create relevant secondary legislation.

Responding to an inquiry from IPN, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure said this process will be launched very soon in a dedicated public event, whose date and place is yet to be decided.

Under the procedure, IT parks are created by Government decision after applications are processed by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.

The registration procedure for IT park residents is yet to be approved by the Government.

The main advantage of being a resident of an IT park is the 7 percent flat tax. Activities include software development, computer game and other software editing, computer management, and others.
