As of January 1, 2019, the one-time childbirth allowance, in correlation with the monetary value of the minimum things needed at birth, will rise by 658 lei, from 5,645 in 2018 to 6,303 lei in 2019, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Silvia Radu announced after a Cabinet meeting where she presented the draft state social insurance budget for 2019, IPN reports.
Under the same draft, the minimum monthly allowance for raising the child up to the age of three will be increased by 100 lei in the case of socially insured persons, from 540 lei to 640 lei. This allowance for raising the child up to the age of two in the case of socially uninsured persons will also be increased by 100 lei, to 640 lei.
Under the 2019 draft state social insurance budget, the monthly support allowance for raising twins or more children born at the same time up to the age of three will grow by 50 lei, from 270 lei to 320 lei.
