One third of road accidents happen during late hours

One third of accidents, per year, registered by Road Police, of Chisinau, happen during night hours.
The Inspector of Road Safety, Administrative Protection and Public Relations, of Road Police Chisinau, Ion Roscovanu has told Info-Prim Neo that during the first quarter between the hours 00:00 AM and 6:00 AM, 39 road accidents have taken place in the capital. High speed and poor visibility account for the majority of registered night accidents. Another main reason for night accidents is the misuse of alert procedures and parking in unauthorized places.
In order to improve the visibility, Ion Roscovanu says that deep light should be on in the early morning hours and at dawn. The poor lightened roads and the misuse of the alert procedures are the main cause of accidents which involve pedestrians, cyclists as well as different obstacles. The cited source states that one of the biggest causes of night accidents is the misuse of full lights can blind other drivers. Mr. Roscovanu says that full lights from behind are dangers for drivers in front. Mr. Roscovanu recommends a speed reduction up to one car unit when the vehicle in front has the full lights on. It is recommended to keep left on the road or avoid the trip altogether. According to psychologists, between the hours one and 3-4 in the morning, human body has the less alertness, when the temperature decreases.
In the first half of the year, in Chisinau, there were registered 513 road accidents, which account for 32 deaths and 657 persons injured.
