More than 30 billboards of the 90 located on the section of Dacia Blvd. between the Airport and the City’s Gates were taken away, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the June 11 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, the head of Botanica district Vladimir Guritsenko said the companies voluntarily dismantled 26 billboards, while the other billboards have been taken down by force.
In the same meeting, the head of the Trade, Public Food and Services Division Vladimir Nirca said that authorizations for setting up 86 new kiosks had been issued during the last five months. “There were 4,775 kiosks in the municipality of Chisinau on March 21, 3,000 of which on the streets of the city. Meanwhile, 289 stalls stopped work. The fate of another 40 kiosks is to be decided,” Vladimir Nirca stated for Info-Prim Neo.
Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said the stalls whose authorizations expired and haven’t been renewed no longer work. Thus, they should be taken away, not relocated.
“I saw cases when a kiosk that stopped work was bought by another company that asked for its relocation. I demand that those who no longer work should take down the stalls so that they cannot be used in continuation. If the relocation is authorized, the new place should be known. The people should know these details so that they do not say that the City Hall puts up new kiosks,” said the mayor.
