The Democratic Action Party (PAD) headed by Mihai Godea submitted the required documents to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to be registered as participant in the November 30 elections. The PAD was preliminarily written under No. 17 in the ballots. The CEC has seven days to examine the documents and to take a decision as regards the registration of the PAD as election runner.

Contacted by IPN, Mihai Godea said that he heads the party’s list and is followed by former deputy minister of health Mihai Magdei, deputy head of the PAD Natalia Ciobanu, former MP Alexandru Lipcan and Doctor Habilitate of Medical Sciences Valentin Friptu. The party will begin the election campaign immediately after the CEC makes public its decision concerning the party’s registration.

Also today, the CEC launched an event urging the political parties and the media outlets to sign the Code of Conduct in elections. On the first day, the document was signed by three broadcasters: Teleradio-Moldova, the regional TV channel “Elita TV” and the TV channel “Realitatea TV”.

The norms of conduct represent a moral obligation for the signatories involved in the election campaign. By signing this document, the parties and broadcasters pledge not to harm the dignity and image of the election runners, not to create obstacles to journalists and not to publish false materials defaming other signatories, not to damage the electoral advertisements of the election contenders and not to hamper the holding of electoral meetings and other events. The Code can be signed by October 30.
