Another ex-director of the Public Services Agency (PSA) is suspected of being involved in the case of blank IDs. This is Vladislav Zara at whose home the prosecutors carried out searches. The former director, who is reportedly outside the country, is to be summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office.
Contacted by IPN for details, prosecutor Mariana Cherpec, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office, said that no evidence relating to the investigated case has been found during the searches.
The prosecutors do not know the whereabouts of the former PSA director. They only know that this left the country. He will be issued with a summons that will be sent to the address of his domicile in the Republic of Moldova. The next steps will depend on whether he shows up or not. He hasn’t been yet classed as a suspect, stated Mariana Cherpec.
Thirteen persons, among who is the former director Sergiu Railean, were arrested following searches carried out at the Public Services Agency last week. The persons are suspected of unjustifiably increasing the quantity and sum of the contract for the purchase of blank IDs, causing damage of over 500 million lei to the state-run Information Resources Center “Registru” and later to the Public Services Agency.
