One man killed and five injured in accident at work

A serious accident at a construction base on Muncesti street in Chisinau resulted in one death and five men injured, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Chisinau Emergency Station, the tragedy happened on Wednesday at about 11.30. Six workers were loading granite boards onto a truck. At a certain moment, the cables with which the boards were tied together tore and one of the boards weighing several hundred kilograms fell on the workers from a height of about 10 meters. A man aged 45 from Floreni village of Anenii Noi district died on the spot, while five men were seriously injured. A 26-year-old man is in a serious condition. He suffered a contusion and fracture of the pelvic bones. A man aged 59 sustained cranial traumas and fractures of the hands and legs. A man aged 46 has his femur fractured. The other two workers received lighter injuries. Four ambulances went to the scene to give first aid and take the victims to the Emergency Hospital. The case is investigated by the Labor Inspectorate and the police of Botanica district.
