A man was killed and two men suffered injuries in an armed attack on a vehicle transporting money from a bank. It happed at about 22.15 on May 30 near a shopping center situated in Rascani district of Chisinau, IPN has learned from the Chisinau Police Division.
The man who died was the driver of the vehicle, who was a Chisinau resident aged 45. According to the information provided by eyewitnesses, several individuals fired shots at the vehicle and then drove away by another car. Experts found bullets of the 5.45 mm caliber. They will be subject to the ballistic examination to determine the model of the gun used. All the money was stolen. The sum is yet to be determined.
The case is examined by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Head of the admissions section of the Chisinau Emergency Hospital Ciprian Gherasim said one of the hurt men is in a serious condition in the intensive care section. He underwent several operations. The man aged 48 was hospitalized with liver and abdomen injuries and an arm fracture. The second man was hurt in the arm. He is 43 years and is now in the microsurgery section. His state is stable.
