A young man was killed and three persons were injured in a road accident that happened at the exit from Chisinau, not far from Posta Veche quarter, in the afternoon of April 24. The car by which the young people travelled crashed into a pole put up in a green strip that separates the opposite-direction lanes.
Contacted by phone by IPN, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir said the preliminary investigations showed that the car was speeding. There are braking tracks at the scene. It is alleged that the driver lost control of the car and ran it into the pole. The driver died on the spot. An extrication team was called to the place of the accident.
Petru Cravet, who is in charge of relations with the media at the National Emergency Medicine Center, said the three passengers from the car, among whom a girl, were admitted to the intensive care section in a serious state.
