A person died and five were hurt when an electricity post hit by a vehicle fell on a trolleybus station. The accident happened on Lunca Bacului St in Chisinau in the evening of January 26, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the pole fell after it was struck by a Hyundai car. A number of persons waiting in the station were injured, including a man aged 48, who died on the spot. A team of rescuers travelled immediately to the scene to help those hurt. The firemen supervised the area until specialists arrived so as to avoid cases of electrocution.
The driver of the car and the passenger weren’t hurt. An investigation is under way.
