On Friday, ballot boxes for the election of the President of Romania open

Starting Friday, November 8, Romanian citizens from the Republic of Moldova can take part in the presidential elections from Romania, IPN reports.

The ballot boxes of the 37 polling stations in the Republic of Moldova will be open on Friday, from 12.00 until 21.00.

On Saturday and Sunday, November 9-10, the polling stations will open at 07.00 and close at 21.00. Voters who at 21.00 will be on the polling station’s premises, as well as those who are outside the polling station waiting to come in and vote, may exercise their voting rights by 23.59 at the latest.

In Chisinau one will be able to vote at 12 polling stations, two polling stations will be opened in Balti and one station will operate in each of the 23 other settlements.

To be able to vote, Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova need a Romanian identity card or a simple electronic passport issued by the Romanian authorities, documents that are valid during the election day. Voters who are 18 years old on the day of voting may cast their ballot.

If the President of Romania is not elected from the first round, a second round of elections will be held on November 22, 23 and 24.
