Libraries, educational institutions and members of the cultural industries are encouraged to join the national campaign “We Read Aloud Together”, which will take place on February 1. The public community reading initiative is promoted by the National Library and the Moldovan Association of Librarians.
To join the campaign, the participating library needs to create a one-day program to promote read-aloud activities and audio books from the library’s collections. The library must create posts on the institution’s Facebook account about the organized activities with the hashtags #World_Read_Loud and #ZICI2023.
Reading aloud together helps strengthen communities and is an act of supporting literacy as one of the most important human rights, the National Library stated in a press release.
The national campaign “We Read Aloud Together” is organized annually and celebrates the World Read Aloud Day, a global initiative promoted by the LitWorld organization since 2010.
