[Info-Prim Neo interview of the Series “Moldova-20! Whereto?” with Veaceslav Drobot, student]
[– What meaning does the day of August 27, 1991 have for you?]
– It has a double meaning. First of all, it is the day when I was born. Therefore, as for everyone, the birthday is a significant day. This day is also important for our country and the people because 20 years ago Moldova became an independent and sovereign state.
[– How important is the Declaration of Independence for Moldova and its people?]
– To my mind, independence is fundamental for every country as they can develop as states, assert themselves at global level and make progress.
[– How do you see Moldova in 20 years?]
– I’m convinced that many changes will take place in Moldova. It is important that they are the right changes. I’m optimistic and hope that the young people will have more opportunities in the future.
[– Do you think that your generation is different from that before the independence? What has changed?]
– I indeed represent a different generation, maybe not as different as they think. However, compared with the young people of 1991, we are different somehow. Currently, the young people are freer in expressing their opinion, in behavior and attitude, etc.
[– How do you see your future?]
– I’m a medical student. As most of the people, I want to assert myself and become a professional doctor. The most important for me is to have possibilities of developing here, in my country so that I do not have to go abroad, as many persons do now.
