Children's ombudsman Tamara Plamadeala suggested setting up a National Children's Fund that will be replenished from donations made by businesspersons and other interested persons. “The fund could be created by Government decision or by presidential decree. The money will be used to implement different programs in schools to promote and protect chidlren's rights,” Tamara Plamadeala has told Info-Prim Neo. According to the ombudswoman, the teachers sometimes ask money from parents for carrying out different school activities, but this is not right. If the National Children's Fund is created, such a problem will be solved. "We made an approach to Acting President Mihai Ghimpu and asked him to take into account the international experience in this respect,” Tamara Plamadeala said.
