Ombudsman Mihail Cotorobai recommends the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and Parliament to simplify the procedure for reexamining the pensions of those who continue to work after retirement.
The ombudsman suggests that the social insurance authority should reexamine the old-age pensions without the beneficiaries being obliged to present additional applications, says a press release that is quoted by IPN.
Even if the recent amendments made to Article 33 of Law No. 156/1998 concerning the public pension system is appreciated by the ombudsman, he proposes the alternative of reexamining the pension automatically, based on data obtained by the National House of Social Insurance, and by later issuing the beneficiary with the decision.
According to Mihail Cotorobai, it is opportune to reexamine the pension based on data processed automatically so that the beneficiaries are not exposed to external factors, such as high temperatures or epidemiological situations. In this case, the social insurance authority should issue the beneficiary with the decision concerning the reexamination of pensions with information about the used data so as to offer this the possibility of challenging the decision or to provide additional data in case of disagreement with the made decision.
