Olimpia, Iskra to clash in Moldovan Cup final

Olimpia Balti and Iskra Stal Rabnita will meet in the Moldovan Cup final for the first time. In the semis, Olimpia eliminated Dacia Chisinau, while Iskra knocked out the cup holders Sheriff Tiraspol, Info-Prim Neo reports. Olimpia won both legs against Dacia. After the away victory, the Balti side managed a narrow 2-1 win on home soil, thanks to goals from Andrei Tcaciuc and Jude Ogada. In Rabnita, Iskra recorded a surprising 3-0 victory over Sheriff, after losing the first leg 1-0. Nicolae Rudac, Eugen Gorodetchi and Alexandru Popovici got on the score sheet, qualifying Iskra in the finals and leaving Sheriff trophyless this season, for the first time since 2001. It is also the first time after 3 and 4 years when no club from Chisinau and Tiraspol reached the final. The 2011 Moldovan Cup final will be played on May 26, on the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau. The winner will represent Moldova in the Europa League.
