Olga Tumuruc: e-APL platform will support mayor’s offices

e-APL will be a platform that will help increase the quality and accessibility of public services, said the head of the e-Governance Agency Olga Tumuruc. According to her, e-APL will help mayor’s offices to digitize processes. Each birth, death or marriage in a locality will be automatically indicated in the State Population Register, IPN reports.

She noted that the e-APL platform is intended for the LPAs and is designed to optimize the model of interaction of mayor’s offices with citizens and the activity of local public authorities, to reduce the administrative burden on both of the sides. The platform will allow access to data in a standardized way.

“This platform should come to assist mayor’s offices to fulfill their main duties, such as the provision of local public services. By this platform, we will try to digitize the local public services. It is a very big challenge as we have 900 mayor’s offices and each mayor’s office has its own list of services. The name can differ from mayor’s office to mayor’s office, but the essence of the service is the same. Therefore, we will standardize the services,” Olga Tumuruc stated in the IPRE’s series of public discussions “Digital Moldova”.

The platform also comes to digitize the post of LPA registrar so that all the events that take place at the local level could be swiftly added to the State Register and an event is not registered in two months of its occurrence, as it happens now.

“The local public authorities will be able to access and use the data they need for budget planning, for providing social assistance. Our platform will make available the data needed by each mayor’s office, equally,” noted Olga Tumuruc.

The costs associated with the maintenance of the platform during the first year of implementation were estimated at 5.4 million lei.
